Unveiling the new logo of the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL team he co-owns with actor Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta, Shah Rukh Khan expressed confidence in the prospects for the fifth season of the Indian Premier League.
Dismissing the differences between some of the team owners and the BCCI, he said, “The future of any league in India is going to be played with some issues because we're just starting off. Sporting leagues are new to us as a country.” Asked about the damp mood surrounding Indian cricket and the possible impact on the next IPL season, he said, “There is nothing to suggest that the fifth season will not do well, that it will not get enough audiences. Please resist the temptation to write off a good thing because it makes a good headline.”
He unveiled the new positioning ‘New Dawn, New Knights' at the event.
On being on time for a press event — admittedly after a long time — he quipped, “New dawn, new knights, new time.”
