Google India on Friday announced the launch of an advertising campaign to raise awareness among Indian agencies and marketers about its display advertising platform.
The campaign titled ‘Watch This Space’ will include online, print, direct mail, and outdoor ads. This is the first time Google India is advertising its display products at scale in India, the company said in a statement.
Google said that its display will provide precise measurement for advertisers across the Google Display Network including YouTube and Orkut. The company will focus on opening the display ecosystem for more players.
“Beyond better performance, this technology will unlock creativity enabling true audience engagement combining the benefits of sight, sound, and motion from traditional television advertising with the interactivity of the web,” said Mr Shailesh Rao, managing director, Media and Platforms for Asia Pacific and Japan, Google, in the statement.
“Globally, display is now a $2.5 billion business for Google. We think there’s enormous room not only to improve but also to grow the entire display advertising industry several orders of magnitude for the benefit of advertisers, agencies, and publishers,” Mr Rao said.
