The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported 15.78 per cent rise in total sales at 4,68,670 units for September 2013 against 4,04,787 units sold in the same month last year.

Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales), Anil Dua, said: “Our performance in September is a result of the strong retail growth we have reported throughout the first half of this financial year.

“Our 16 per cent growth in despatch sales in September has come on the back of a consistent 7 per cent growth in our retail sales this year.”

In September, the company had commenced construction of its Centre for Global Innovation and Research & Design at Kukas on the outskirts of Jaipur in Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 450 crore.

This facility will be ready for operations by the first quarter of calendar year 2015.
