Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Tuesday launched a new bike — CBR 650F — priced at ₹7.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company is primarily assembling the bike at its Manesar plant with only five per cent localisation. Parts are mainly coming from Thailand and Japan, it said.

“We had announced to launch 15 models this year and out of that we have already introduced 10 products in the past seven months. CBR 650F is the 11th model launched in the country. We are ready for the next level,” Keita Muramatsu, President and Chief Executive Officer, HMSI, said here at the launch.

The new motorcycle will be sold through exclusive sales-service shop-in-shop network of ‘Wing world’ dealerships across 12 cities, including Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, he said.

The team at Honda has worked to realise a dream of making a 16-valve, in-line-four cylinder motorcycle in India, Muramatsu said, adding that the new bike is powered by 87PS, 62.9Nm and comes with ABS as a standard fitment.

The company unleashed a ‘fun motorcycle revolution’ here introducing five new models panning all segments at the Honda RevFest 2015.

“Our customers will discover the joy of riding with five new motorcycles across five segments — the CBR 650F, CB Hornet, Livo, as well as the new CBR 250R and 150R,” said YS Guleria, Senior Vice-President - Sales and Marketing.

The company also showcased the first look of yet another motorcycle, the 15th product of 2015, which will be launched before the end of this calendar year.

HMSI also said as part of Honda extending MotoGP association with Italian apparel maker GAS, a limited edition of GAS-Honda biking clothes and accessories will be launched in the country.

The merchandise will debut at Honda Wing worlds for retail.
