Medistra Hospitals, a leading healthcare provider in Indonesia, has entered into an agreement with the Hyderabad-based Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) to upgrade its skills in patient care and research.
“Medistra will refer its patients to AIG in Hyderabad for specialised consultation and treatment,” Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman of AIG, said here in a press release.
Prof. Lesmana, Head (Department of Gastroenterology of Medistra Hospitals) and Dr Susilawati Bolang, Director of that group, were here to sign the agreement with AIG.
AIG would take up teaching and other educational programmes through case presentation and telemedicine and teleconferencing facilities. The institute would also share its expertise in tackling diseases related to liver.
“We have trained 400 gastroenterologists from around the world. We treat patients from West Asia, Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan,” Dr Reddy said.
