Madras Cements has reported a 40 per cent drop in the net profit for 2010-11 compared with the previous year's net.
It has reported a net profit of Rs 210.98 crore on net sales of Rs 2,604.90 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011. During the previous year the company reported a net profit of Rs 353.68 crore on net sales of Rs 2,800.89 crore.
The company has announced a dividend of Rs 1.25 for a share of Re 1 for the year. On the NSE the company's shares closed 8 per cent higher at Rs 93.20 against the previous close of Rs 89.05.
