MRF rolls out luxury car tyre range

MRF has introduced Perfinza range of luxury and premium car tyres widening its product portfolio in the passenger car segment.

The new range of tyres, which will cater to 15-18 inch tyre segment, will be available in the replacement market for over 60 models from Maruti Suzuki Baleno to high-end Mercedes Benz.

Mercedes-Benz has technically approved Perfinza range on a global tyre size for its E-Class range.

It is the first luxury car tyre range made by an Indian company to get approval by a global luxury car maker like Mercedes-Benz.

MRF is confident of attracting buyers with its value for money proposition.

“We want to be in every product range and it’s a very prestigious thing to work with global luxury majors,” KM Mammen, Chairman and Managing Director, MRF, said after the launch of the new tyres.

The new range has been developed by its in-house R&D team, and tested and perfected on tracks in India, Germany and Spain in assorted conditions.

Koshy Varghese, Executive Vice President – Marketing & Sales, said: “MRF is there in every category of passenger car segment and the new range offers improved product and a better driving experience.”

The starting price of Perfinza range will be about ₹5,500 and these tyres will be available in 122 locations in India through Tyres and Services franchisees or Tiretok stores in the first phase. “We will expand to more locations as we go along,” said Varghese.

He also said that MRF will continue its annual capex ₹800-1,000 crore which will be invested in capacity, automation, R&D, over the next few years.
