Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) will come out with its retail outlets soon, according to H Kumar, Managing Director of the company.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Monday evening, Kumar said that the board of the company has given the approval for the opening of 122 retail outlets.
Asked about the timeframe for opening these outlets, he said, “In a couple of weeks MRPL will announce its first set of retail outlets. Now we have got approval for 122 retail outlets.”
In the first phase, the company is likely to open 50-60 retail outlets. Asked about the probable locations for opening these outlets, Kumar said, “Initially we will restrict ourselves to Karnataka, northern Kerala and Goa. As we go along we can expand them to other states also.”
He said that the Government of India has appointed AK Sahoo, General Manager of MRPL, as the Director (Finance) of the company. He will take over from February 1.
