Auto components-maker Sundram Fasteners Ltd of the USD 7.2-billion TVS group has been chosen for the Deming prize for all its seven plants across the country.
The prize, instituted by the union of Japanese scientists and engineers, would be presented in Tokyo on November 14.
Deming prize is given for companies that have achieved breakthrough results by application of total quality management, a press release said here Friday
“It is gratifying that Sundram Fasteners has won the prize for its plants covering technologies from casting to forging and products and customer segments,” managing director of the company Arathi Krishna said in the release.
The cooperation of the employees and their focus on excelling has helped the company make quick and successful strides in reaching the present status, she said.
