Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has won two grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects of 50 MW capacity both at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. The projects have been awarded through the second phase of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. A media statement issued by the company said that TPREL has received the letter of intent to develop the projects and will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. Anil Sardana, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Power, said the two solar projects will add 100 MW of renewable energy thereby increasing the green footprint of the company. In the next five years, the company plans to significantly add to its solar generation capacity.
