City-based power player Torrent Power Ltd has entered into a contract with a leading wind turbine generator manufacturing firm for the development of 197.40 megawatt wind power project across three sites in Gujarat.
In a statement issued here, the company informed that the project would be developed across three sites in Kutch and Bhavnagar districts of the state.
"The project is expected to be commissioned progressively by March 2017 and shall have off-take arrangements for the fulfilment of renewable power purchase obligations."
Torrent Power has a renewable energy portfolio with 49.60 MW wind power project at Lalpur in Jamnagar district of Gujarat, along with 51 MW solar power project at Charanka Solar Park, Gujarat. It is currently implementing 81 MW solar power project at Kamrej, Surat and 136.80 MW wind power project in Rajkot and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat.
Torrent Power shares ended the session up by 1.83 per cent at Rs 220.20 on the BSE.
