Riding on the comfort of its improved sales in house wiring cables, the State-owned Traco Cable Co Ltd has garnered ₹200-crore sales in FY19.
The new advertisement campaigns, especially through the public transport systems like KSRTC and Railways, as well as radio ads for its house wiring cables, have enabled the company to achieve this sales achievement, said Santosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director. This is the first time since its inception in 1964, the company has clocked a good sales turnover, he said, adding that Traco Cable is targeting ₹250-crore sales in the current fiscal.
With increased production capacity, the company is looking at opening more outlets across the state to ensure the availability of its house wiring cables for customers. Besides house wiring cables, the other products of the company includes conductors, AB Cables, UG Cables, paper insulated cables.
The KSEB and electricity boards of Punjab, Pondichery and Rajasthan are buying Traco products and the company received orders worth ₹300 crore from them last fiscal.
