Kitchen appliance brand TTK Prestige has announced its entry into the home cleaning market. “This is the first time we are venturing beyond kitchen appliances, a category that is almost synonymous with the company for over 60 years,” said TT Jagannathan, Chairman, TTK Group.
The new initiative, under the ‘Prestige Clean Home’ banner, will feature a slew of products — the electric range includes electric mops, vacuum cleaner, floor polishers, steam cleaners and air purifiers. The non-electric portfolio consists of stick mops, twister mop, squeeze mop, magic mops, spray mops, ladders and flip bins.
“The company is planning to pilot it in Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. Prestige Clean Home is expected to constitute 5 per cent of the company’s revenues in the next year,” said Jagannathan.
“Prestige Clean Home is our next big push for growth. Since we have touched six million households right now and earned their trust. We want to bank on that to push this new segment,” he added.
The home cleaning segment is pegged at a market opportunity of ₹2,500 crore and is growing at over 15-20 per cent year-on-year.
Chandru Kalro, Managing Director, TTK Prestige, said: “After transforming the way India cooks, we are committed to transforming the way India cleans.” The company has indigenously designed its own product — electric mop. Jagannathan said: “the product, which has been patented by us, will be launched shortly. The product is designed for Indian homes. It sweeps, scrubs and mops the floor too.”
“This patented product is fitted with a healthy spray mechanism, it saves water while also helping you from the trouble of carrying a bucket,” he added.
