Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on Saturday reported 2.8 per cent increase in total sales of Eicher branded products at 3,687 units in May 2013.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,587 units in the same month in 2012.
Domestic sales stood at 3,488 units in May 2013 as against 3,432 units in the year—ago period, up 1.6 per cent, VECV said in a statement.
Exports went up by 28.4 per cent during the month under review to 199 units from 155 units in May, 2012.
VECV’s sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market dipped by 3.5 per cent to 1,833 units during the month from 1,899 units in the year—ago period.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales dipped by 30.94 per cent to 415 units as against 601 units.
