It set up four sub-committees to get back from each of these areas. CPDCL (Central Power Distribution Company Ltd or Central discom) would collect feedback from the industry, while NPDCL (northern discom, Warangal) and EPDCL (eastern discom, Visakhapatnam) would study issues related to domestic sector and SPDCL (southern discom, Tirupati) would work on government useage angle.

“The objective of the Government is to balance the energy supply and demand with maximum resource efficiency and to reduce power deficiency. This is also aimed at providing quality power to all categories of consumers,” the Member-Secretary, Energy Coordination, said here in a statement.

Mr Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary (Energy Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh), asked the ECC to submit a comprehensive and implementable report to the Government by the end of September.

“The committee has resolved to implement Bachat Lamp Yojana scheme in all the four Discoms (power distribution companies) soon.
