Mr Dilip Kawathkar, Joint Project Director, MMRDA, said, “MMRDA has granted about 50 ‘Locational Clearances' till date for about 2.75 lakh rental housing units in the metropolitan region. This project is declared as vital public purpose project and about five lakh rental housing units will be procured in next five years from the developers. We have issued the RFPs inviting the agencies who have executed and were engaged in various infrastructure projects in Mumbai to set empanelled for providing services to rental housing. This would ensure speedy and quality project work.” The scope of services broadly includes the consultants to complete the project as per the specifications stipulated by MMRDA and quality control. The consultants will also review the plans/layout/designs in conformity to the standards /approvals from local bodies and the authority.

They will supervise the project and follow up of schedule and milestone to ensure time bound completion of project. Ensure that all civic utilities/amenities & services are provided by the developers in conformity to developer's agreement with MMRDA and rental housing units are handed over to MMRDA.
