The Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with Rajagiri Outreach, jointly organised a workshop on ‘Waste Management in Kerala.'
The workshop was based on a report on situational analysis on waste management in Kerala, with special reference to Ernakulam district undertaken by a group of students from University of Amsterdam and Rajagiri College of Social Sciences.
Models on the waste management system at Netherlands were also presented during the workshop. The defects in the waste management system at Kochi, compared with other cities in India such as Pune, Chennai and Mumbai and Amsterdam, and ways to tackle it by adopting various scientific methods of waste management system, were discussed .
