Coffee prices increased by up to Rs 300 for a bag of 50 kg as limited quantity of coffees was on sale, while exporters, too, were active at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction.

According to auctioneer J Thomas & Company, Robusta Parchment coffees continued to receive good support from the exporters as they had to fulfil their export commitments.

Domestic roasters, on the other hand, were active on the Arabica Plantation and Arabica Cherry coffees on sale. Merchant traders were selective on Arabica coffees, while they were active on Robusta Cherry on sale. The domestic trade bought substantial quantity of North-East Region Arabica Cherry and Robusta Cherry between Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,900.

Arabica Plantation A grade price was higher by Rs 300 for a 50 kg bag. Domestic roasters were the key buyers of PB and B grade on offer and got sold at Rs 10,625 for a 50 kg bag, C grade sold at last week levels.

Robusta Parchment coffee price were higher by Rs 50 to 100 a bag compared with the last sale date. Robusta Cherry AB grade price was higher by Rs 50 to 100 a bag, PB, A and C grade sold at current price levels of Rs 7,000-7,100 for a bag.
