A good demand resulted in the spurting of prices of almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction.
In Sale No: 12 dust category, the quantity on offer for CTC grades was 8,71,000 kg. The market for good liquoring appreciated with longer margins to the tune of Rs 10-15. In the orthodox grades, the quantity on offer was 7,500 kg. In the best CTC dusts, PD varieties quoted at Rs 118-133; RD grades Rs 135-170; SRD Rs 139-166 and SFD at Rs 140-166. In leaf, 81,000 kg orthodox were on offer. CTC offer was 91,000 kg.
In the dust category, Glendale BOPD (S) quoted the best prices of Rs 179 followed by Injipara (Prm) RD at Rs 170. In the leaf varieties, Chamraj Green FOP (S) fetched the best prices of Rs 445 followed by Goldsland Select BPS at Rs 256.
