India’s natural rubber production rose by 7.2 per cent to 62,700 tonnes in July, 2011, vis—a—vis the year—ago period, while consumption increased by 7.61 per cent to 82,000 tonnes.
In July, 2010, production and consumption of natural rubber in the country stood at 58,500 tonnes and 76,200 tonnes, respectively.
Natural rubber imports increased to 20,127 tonnes last month from 17,975 tonnes in the same month last year. Exports also grew to 779 tonnes from 24 tonnes in the review period.
