Weak trend continued at the Vashi wholesale sugar market on Friday as producers sold the commodity ₹20-30 lower on less-than-expected demand. Prices at Vashi dropped further by ₹10-20 a quintal. Naka rates were steady. Freight rates were steady. Arrivals were at 60-62 truck loads and local dispatches were at 57-58 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,176-3,272 and M-grade ₹3,252-3,452. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,120-3,300 and M-grade ₹3,160-3,400.
