The Centre has assured the Jharkhand government that it will covert 300 km of state roads into national highways this year, as well as consider its request for including 20 road stretches under a scheme for left-wing extremist affected areas.
“The Road Transport and Highways Minister, Mr C.P. Joshi, has assured the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Mr Arjun Munda, to convert 300 km of State roads into national highways this year,” a Road Ministry official said.
The Ministry has already set up a committee headed by the Road Secretary to identify the roads for the project.
