The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has been conferred with the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certification by the Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS) – a department of Indian Register of Shipping, Mumbai.
An official press release said here that the Environmental Management System provides to implement an environmental programme in a comprehensive, systematic and planned manner.
Quoting Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of NMPT, it said NMPT has taken up various measures for keeping the port and its surrounding clean and green.
