The new international terminal at the Chennai Airport is all set to go operational, though partially, from next week.
According to a statement from the Airports Authority of India, from August 7 (from 2200 hrs), the departure of international flight of IndiGo, SpiceJet and Air Austral will be from the new terminal. And, the other flights will be shifted in due course.
However, international arrivals will continue from the existing terminal for the time being.
For the convenience of passengers, signages and free shuttle services have been provided. Shops, snack bars, money exchange and duty-free shop have also been provided in the departure lounge of the new international terminal , it added.
The city side traffic to the new international departure terminal will be from the elevated road through the present domestic terminal at the upper level.
AAI will also put up a Help Desk on city side at the departure level for guiding passengers.
