Air India will achieve operational profits in this financial year, Rajiv Nayan Choubey, Secretary, Civil Aviation, said on Friday.

“Air India is achieving operational profits two years before what is said in the turnaround plan,” Choubey said, adding this was because of a dip in crude oil prices and operational efficiencies the airline has effected.

The Secretary said it will be a ``slender figure of about ₹6 crore” in the current financial year. A senior Government official said it would be after more than 10 years that Air India will be reporting an operational profit.
