The Government has extended for the second straight time the last date for submission of requests from private parties for operation, management and development of Chennai, Kolkata and two other airports. The two other airports are Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
Private parties interested in participating in the modernisation of these airports can now put in their bids to be shortlisted for the process till July 1. Earlier the last date was May 26.
In effect, this means that there will be a delay in the modernising process of these airports.
GMR Airports, the GVK Group, Tata Realty, Essel, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, Siemens Postal Parcel and Airport Logistics Pvt Ltd, International Business Development Flughafen, Zurich, Flemingo Duty Free Shop Pvt Ltd and Cochin International Airport have shown an interest in taking part in the modernisation of four airports.
