Indian Railways’ electric locomotive manufacturer, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), on Wednesday said it had manufactured 257 locomotives for the fiscal ended March 31.
This, according to a CLW release, has surpassed the Railway Board’s target of 230 locomotives in 2011-12. In 2010-11, CLW had manufactured 246 locomotives.
CLW introduced a new technology to manufacture 6000 HP energy-efficient electric locomotives, the spokesperson added.
