India's second largest airline Jet Airways has roped in Rahul Taneja from Essar Group to take over as Jet's Chief People Officer.

Taneja will be responsible for shaping the operations and performance of the group. He will join the Executive Management Committee that has been tasked by the Board of Directors to drive the company’s growth and future strategy.

Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways, said: “I am delighted that Rahul Taneja has joined Jet Airways as Chief People Officer and a key member of our executive management committee. He brings with him a global HR management perspective, and I am sure Jet Airways will benefit substantially from his expertise and experience locally and internationally.”

Taneja previously headed Corporate Human Resources at Essar Group where he spearheaded the strategic re-design of the organisation and led the HR function for global operations across all business portfolios.

His earlier roles included HR Director at computer giant Dell International and Group HR Head at telecom networks solutions company HFCL.
