Taiwanese ocean carrier TS Lines (TSL) has launched the ‘India-Middle East Express' (IMX), a new service connecting Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, according to shipping industry sources.

The IMX using two ships with a capacity of 2,554 TEUs each, the TS Korea and TS Tokyo, has a transit time of 14 days.

The first sailing took place on 29 September with the TS Korea, which is running on a fortnightly frequency until November 15 when the addition of the TS Tokyo is to upgrade the service to a weekly frequency. The IMX completes the West Asia and India coverage of TS Lines as it adds to the TSL's China- NMEast service (CME - from which Nhava Sheva is removed as a result) and to the joint China-West Asia service that TSL operates with Gold Star Line and Hainan POS (CME 2).

Emirates Shipping joins new service

Emirates Shipping Line has participated in the new Far East-West India service launched by NYK, Hanjin and Evergreen (WIN/ICS/CIX3) on October 29.

ESL has branded the service as EKIS.

The service will call at Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong and return to Busan.

Namakkal Transport to expand into South East Asia from Singapore

Meanwhile, Namakkal Transport, that specialises in heavy lift and mega structure haulage, has announced the official launch of its first entry into an overseas market through NTC Logistics Pte, Ltd which will provide service through its NVOCC and Project divisions in Singapore to cater clients' demand for the transport of containers and conventional cargo across the border.
