New Delhi is the most popular Indian destination among overseas travellers, according to the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) report by Hotels.com. Mumbai is in second place and Bangalore comes in third on the list. Other popular metros include Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata in the fourth, eighth and ninth positions respectively.
Goa, the beach and party destination, is the fifth most popular destination with foreigners followed by Jaipur, the pink city, in sixth spot. Kochi in ‘God’s own Country’ Kerala is also a favourite amongst international travellers, taking the tenth position on the list.
The HPI report also reveals that South-East Asian destinations are popular with Indian travellers. According to the report, the great value rates available in Bangkok make it the most preferred international destination amongst Indians, followed by Singapore. Other popular South-East Asian destinations in the top 10 list include Pattaya, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket in the sixth, seventh, ninth and tenth positions respectively.
Other destinations in the top 10 list include Dubai in third spot, New York in fourth, London in fifth and Las Vegas in eighth position.
