The West Bengal government has taken an initiative to simplify the single window clearance counter available with WBIDC, the Commerce and Industry Minister Mr Partha Chatterjee said today.
“After a series of meetings of the core groups, it has been decided to reduce the number of forms required to be filled up from the present 99 to 15,” Mr Chatterjee told a seminar here. He said that this would substantially reduce the time for investors keen to set up units in the State.
Mr Chatterjee said that the government would follow the policy of no forcible acquisition of agriculture land for industry.
“Industrialisation process, however, will have to be taken forward. Something will have to be done,” he said.
He also urged the big industrial houses to take initiatives to revive and rejuvenate small sick units.
