Days after the former Additional DGP, Mr R Nataraj, took over as its Chairman, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, which was in the news recently following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment, today set up a grievance cell to address concerns of applicants.
The cell will function with three officials — a Section Officer, an Assistant Section Officer and an Assistant. All complaints can be made through post, e-mail, telephone or by person and will be looked into at once, a senior official said.
The cell was aimed at maintaining transparency in the Commission's functioning and help avoid unnecessary anxiety to the applicants, he said. It will function on all working days between 10 a.m. and 5.45 p.m.
Mr Nataraj replaced Mr R Sellamuthu, appointed by the previous DMK regime, who had resigned recently in the wake of alleged irregularities in recruitment by TNPSC, the nodal agency for all government departments.
Mr Sellamuthu and other TNPSC members had faced vigilance action as sleuths had raided their office and residential premises in connection with the allegations. DVAC had also raided houses of some candidates who were suspected to have paid money for getting jobs through TNPSC.
