Artin Dynamics has won the Magnitude 2011 Award for the corporate level business plan competition for start-ups in Technopark here.

The event was organised by IMK (Institute of Management in Kerala), Varkala, in association with T-TBI (Technopark Technology Business Incubation Centre) held at Technopark on Tuesday.

SIX SHORT-LISTED

Six of the 40 start-ups in the fray were shortlisted to the finals on the basis of the respective business plans presented before a panel of judges.

Artin Dynamics was declared the best on the basis of a ‘live vote' polled from among employees of Technopark. The award carried a cash incentive of Rs 10,000 and a certificate.

The judging panel comprised Mr Sanjay George, Advisory Consultant, UST Global; Mr Harikrishnan Nair, Head of Innovation, UST Global; and Mr Sasikumar, Head of Entrepreneur Development Cell, IMK.

POWER SAVING

The Artin business plan was based on its products such as ‘Spara', ‘Evolve,' and ‘Landnet.' Of these, only Spara is ready for sales, a company spokesman said. The other two are still in the research and development phase.

‘Spara' is a power-saving product that recently logged 42.7 per cent in terms of savings registered during tests undertaken by Energy Management Centre, Kerala, an autonomous body under the State Department of Power.

The Artin presentation also included a brief guidance on the road ahead with respect to each of the constituent department (human resources, marketing, operations and R&D).

MOTIVATING EVENT

Magnitude 2011 has been a highly motivating event for the upcoming entrepreneurs, according to Mr G. Shashi Kumar, Project Adviser, Entrepreneur Development Cell, the University of Kerala.

It has given them an opportunity to display their entrepreneurial capability. The participants have also got insight on how business can be made successful, he added.

Winning Magnitude 2011 has been an inspiration for the company, said Mr Sanjay Krishna Menon, Chief Marketing Officer, Artin Dynamics.
