Indian Domain Owners Association (IDOA) will host a first ever international domain conference in India here on August 24.
“India is the first venue for World Domain Day (WDD) conference to promote domain name revolution. The new wave of top level domains will create a completely new Internet landscape forever,” Prakhar Bindal, CEO Axsiom.com, said, announcing the details of the conference in a statement here on Tuesday.
Mike Mann, a leading domain investor, Ajay Kumar (Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of IT), Govind (Chairman of NIXI), Simon Cousins (CEO, TLD Registry), Jeffrey Sass (CMO, .CLUB Registry) and cyber law expert Pavan Duggal will take part in the meet.
“New GTLD Licenses have been issued and they are being gradually rolled out every week for the next 10-12 months. They have released .Consulting and .media were released recently,” Bindal said.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the global Internet overseer, is preparing for the expansion of the domain name system. The group received about 2,000 applications for new generic top level domains (gTLD – the .com or .net extensions in web names).
WDD.2014 will bring together domain owners, affiliate marketers, bloggers, start-ups and SMEs, and service providers from India, USA, UK, Dubai, Australia, Denmark, New Zealand etc. to spread awareness about gTLDs.
