To counter the impact of Reliance Jio Infocomm’s (Jio) free calls and data, Bharti Airtel on Friday said it is offering special 4G data packs for pre-paid customers.
However, unlike Jio, they won’t be free and the special 4G data pack will cost ₹1,495 for data for 90 days. A customer can use 30GB of data as part of this deal (for 90 days).
The company also said that its ‘fair usage policy will be applicable’, which means if the 30GB is consumed before the said validity, the speed may become lower by using lower bandwidth (2G).
While the pack will be available for ₹1,495 for existing users, new users can avail themselves of this offer via a first recharge of ₹1,494, the company said.
Commenting on the newly launched offers, Ajai Puri, Director – Operations (India & South Asia), Airtel, said: “Customers with 4G handsets generally consume large amounts of data and this proposition is specifically aimed at them. With this pack these customers can stay online round the clock without having to worry about exhausting their data limits or going for frequent recharges.”
The pack is currently available in Delhi and will be launched across other circles over the next few days.
