Online marketplace Snapdeal on Wednesday announced the launch of Shopo as a zero-commission open mobile marketplace which is targeted at small businesses and individual sellers. The buyers and sellers can directly interact through chat.
The company said it’s targeting one million shops online in the next one year through this app which is currently available on iOS and android.
The company had acquired this online marketplace in 2013.
With less than 0.1 per cent of the SMB’s having an online presence, the company said Shopo is trying to address this opportunity by creating a platform where shop owners can set online shops through a single step listing.
The company said chat will help buyers and sellers directly interact, negotiate and choose a mutually convenient mode of transaction as well as delivery.
Kunal Bahl, Co-Founder and CEO, Snapdeal said, “We are building the most impactful digital commerce ecosystem in the country and are committed to make the experience convenient, efficient and mutually rewarding for consumers and sellers.”
