A new update for Microsoft’s XBox One console allows users to get alerts when friends log on, making it easier for them to start competing.
Another new feature is the silent reboot function, which keeps the XBox from completely turning off when downloading an update in standby mode. Instead, it quietly powers back on, a time-saver for the gamer.
Microsoft says the update includes an array of other minor improvements, including ones that boost performance for the Kinect motion detection controller and the console’s Blu-ray player.
