Chinese technology leader Xiaomi today launched the slim-bezels smartphone, Mi MIX 2, successor to the concept phone, Mi MIX showcased a year ago, but not brought to India.

The original Mi MIX caught the world’s attention because of the almost bezel-less format of the display. Being a concept phone, the Mi MIX wasn’t sold in very many regions, but the Mi MIX 2 is soon to be available in the Indian market for ₹35,999.

The 5.99-inch screen of the Mi MIX 2 has a 17:9 aspect ratio seeming to more or less fill up the entire body of the phone on the front.

Manu Jain, Vice-President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India, said, “With Mi MIX, we gave everyone a glimpse of what the phone of the future would look like. Mi MIX 2 has evolved from a conceptual design into a user-friendly phone catered to a wider consumer audience while retaining the wow factor. We are so proud to have brought Mi MIX 2 for our fans in India within a month of our global launch, and I am sure everyone will love how immersive the experience is.”

On the back, the Mi MIX 2 is in a beautiful ceramic finish and has been jointly designed with world-renowned designer Philippe Starck,.

Other features on the Mi MIX 2 include 43 network bands making the phone reliable for those who travel globally. Specs include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the Sony IMX386 sensor for its 12-megapixel camera which also comes with 4-axis OIS.

Mi MIX 2 will be available in a 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage version in India via Mi.com, Flipkart, all Mi Home stores, Mi Preferred Partner stores, and Large Format Retail Partners during the first week of November.
