Chinese telecom vendor ZTE Corporation has appointed Liu Peng as Chief Executive Officer for India operations replacing Xu Dejun, who has completed his tenure (10 years) and now going back to headquarters in China.
Peng is a PHD in engineering and carries experience in marketing, sales and business development, ZTE India said.
Prior to his current role as India CEO, he held various roles within ZTE. He started his career here in 2007 as a Sales Director and was further promoted as the Managing Director, sales for ZTE India.
Peng has experience in marketing, sales and business development and has been instrumental in business growth in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Africa other than India, it said.
India is ZTE’s third biggest smartphone market after the US and China. To further bolster its positioning in the Indian market, ZTE aims at clocking sales of one-million smartphones by the end of this year, the company added.
