State-run trading company MMTC has invited bids for import of 47,000 tonnes of pulses for sale in the domestic market.
According to a notification posted on its website, the company is seeking delivery of the pulses at Mumbai and Chennai ports by March.
Bids will close on February 17 and a decision on the tender will be taken on the same day, it said.
Bids have been invited for different varieties of pulses from Myanmar, Africa and Canada.
India imports around 4 million tonnes of pulses every year to meet the domestic shortage.
