Nickel prices fell by 0.75 per cent to Rs 1,056.50 per kg in futures trade today amid a weakening global trend and sluggish demand from alloy makers at spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in July fell by Rs 8 or 0.75 per cent to Rs 1,056.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,295 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August fell by Rs 6.50 or 0.61 per cent to Rs 1,066 per kg, with a turnover of 385 lots.
Market analysts said apart from sluggish demand from alloy makers at domestic markets, a weakening trend in the overseas market further pulled down nickel futures prices.
