Potato prices moved down by Rs 4.10 to Rs 584 per quintal at the futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions against adequate supply.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in June fell by Rs 4.10 or 0.7 per cent to Rs 584 per quintal with an open interest of a single lot. Similarly, May contract shed Rs 3.70 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 596.30 per quintal with a business turnover of just one lot.
Traders attributed the fall in potato futures prices to offloading of positions by speculators against adequate supply.
