Sugar prices at Vashi declined by ₹10-25 a quintal for old fair quality stocks and ruled steady for new season’s stocks. Naka rates were steady with limited activities. Mill tender rates were down by ₹10-20.
As supply from mills remained sufficient, stockists stayed away from fresh buys. Arrivals were steady at 60-62 truck loads and local dispatches were at 58-60 loads. Freight rates were steady.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates:S-grade ₹3,512-3,632 and M-grade ₹3,606-3,825. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,480-3,520 and M-grade ₹3,570-3,670.
