Pepper markets on Wednesday ruled steady on sluggish activities. Buyers have slowed down, while no sellers were forthcoming, market sources told BusinessLine. On the terminal market, five tonnes of new pepper were traded at ₹635-650 a kg. High Range sellers were quoting ₹670 but no buyers. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹65,800 (ungarbled) and ₹68,800 (garbled) a quintal. January, February and March contracts on the IPSTA also stayed steady at ₹65,000, ₹63,000 and ₹58,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $10,575 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,825 for the US.
