Prices of edible oils rose despite slack physical demand amid firm Malaysian palm oil futures on Thursday. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut, cotton, soyabean and sunflower oil increased by ₹10 for 10 kg each. Palmolein rose by ₹4, while rapeseed oil was unchanged. Activities remained very limited in absence of fresh bet from stockists.
Local refineries increased their prices for palmolein and soya oil tracking firm reports from overseas market.Liberty was quoting palmolein for ₹535-537 and super palmolein ₹557. Ruchi traded palmolein at ₹536, soyabean refined oil ₹660, sunflower refined oil ₹677. Allana’s rates: palmolein ₹536, soyabean refined oil ₹676 and sunflower oil ₹681.
In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil ruled steady with Telia tin at ₹1,575 and loose (10 kg) ₹1,000.
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 990 (980), soya refined oil 665(655), sunflower exp. ref. 630 (620), sunflower ref. 675 (670), rapeseed ref. oil 790 (790), rapeseed expeller ref. 760 (760), cottonseed ref. oil 600 (590) and palmolein 532 (528).
