Silver prices slipped by Rs 139 to Rs 53,903 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing high levels amid weak trend in Asian region.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September fell by Rs 139 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 53,903 per kg, with a business turnover of 418 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July moved down by Rs 120 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 53,073 per kg, with a business volume of 8,784 lots.
Market analysts said profit-taking by speculators at existing high levels amid weak trend in Asian region led to the fall in silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver shed 0.06 per cent to $35.37 an ounce in Asian region.
