For Sale No: 28 of the auction of Coonoor Tea Trade Association which will conclude on Friday, a volume of 15.73 lakh kg has been catalogued.

This is some 23,000 kg less than last week’s offer.

Of this, 10.34 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 5.39 lakh kg, dust grade. As much as 14.36 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.37 lakh kg, orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 85,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 9.49 lakh kg, CTC. Among the dusts, only 52,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 4.87 lakh kg, CTC.

Quotations held by brokers last week indicated bids ranging ₹80-84 a kg for plain leaf grades and ₹100-130 for brighter liquoring sorts. They ranged ₹84-89 for plain dusts and ₹110-165 for brighter liquoring dusts.
