Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened marginally lower on Friday.
The yellow metal for October delivery opened at Rs 30,000 per 10 grams against its previous close of Rs 30,014.
In Comex, it was trading up at $1,591 a troy ounce.
Rupee has shown a depreciating trend against dollar since morning.
MCX gold October contract may trade in a range of Rs 29,980 to Rs 30,070 per 10 grams.
