Great Sports Infra, a Hyderabad-based sports infrastructure provider, is coming up with a Rs 30 crore SME-IPO in September.
The funds will be utilised for expansion and diversification of products so that sports events can be taken to newer locations, the company Managing Director, Anil Kumar, said.
The company, founded in 2004, had logged a turnover of Rs 68 crore in fiscal 2017-18. Of this, 5-10 per cent sales is from foreign contracts. Great Sports Infra has appointed Pantomath as Merchant Banker for the issue, Anil Kumar told BusinessLine .
The company has made a mark with its turf protection system, the rapid draining of rainwater from grounds, and modular gallery for stadia in recent times. With Sub Air, the US firm, Great Sports Infra has implemented a unique project to ‘rain proof’ the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium.
“We have worldwide rights for the technology for cricket stadia from the US firm. BCCI is keen on implementing the facility in other stadia as well. The system ensures draining away rainwater from the ground within minutes and help restart the match quickly,” Anil explained.
Great Sports Infra has tied up with Alcor of France for the modular gallery and Terra Plas of UK for the turf protection system. With growing interest in sports and many states vying to create infrastructure, GSI is confident of achieving robust growth in the future, Anil Kumar said.
The company wants to increase its geographic presence to 15 states. At present, it has about 90 staff in Hyderabad, New Delhi office and on site.
