Capital market regulator SEBI has prohibited Ravi Chouksey and his proprietorship firm Gravita Research Company from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in the securities market for four years.
SEBI found Gravitas indulging in unregistered investment advisery services.
Both Chouksey and Gravita have been barred from undertaking any activity in the securities market without obtaining SEBI registration.
Both have been directed to return monies received from clients, if any, in respect of unregistered investment advisory activities and submit a certificate from a peer reviewed chartered accountant within three months.
The order comes into effect immediately.
SEBI’s investment advisers regulations were notified on January 21, 2013.
